“Helping Hands” schools WASH campaign

AmCham Sri Lanka in collaboration with Teejay Lanka PLC joined hands with Habitat for Humanity in Sri Lanka’s ‘Helping Hands’ school WASH project aimed at providing sanitation facilities for and hyenine education for rural schools across Sri Lanka. The first of three schools in the Yatiyanthota, Kosgama, and Dehiowita were visited last week where the teams from Habitat, Teejay Lanka and AmCham were able to participate in the hygiene education programs conducted for over 2000 students by the area Public Health officials. We look forward to handing over the newly built three-toilet units which are equipped with disability access and overhead water tanks to the schools soon!
