AmCham SL launches Private Sector led initiative to help the nation toward safe drinking water this World Water Day – 2023

In celebration of World Water Day, AmCham Sri Lanka collaborated with Habitat for Humanity in Sri Lanka to bring an integral project to the attention and support of its membership and well-wishers through the HFHSL Helping Hands Project, a project to provide WaSH facilities in under-resourced schools across the nation. 

The dysfunction throughout the water cycle which has undermined it’s progress on all major global issues, from health to hunger, gender equality to jobs, education to industry, and disasters to peace.

Due to Billions of people and countless schools, businesses, healthcare centers, farms, and factories were held back because of their human rights to water and sanitation were in need to be fulfilled by the year 2015, the world committed to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 as part of the 2030 Agenda – with the promise that everyone would have safely managed water and sanitation by the year 2030.
