AmCham Sri Lanka Member Survey for Labour Reforms

AmCham Sri Lanka was pleased to host a delegation led by the Honourable Minister of Labour & Foreign Employment, the Hon. Manusha Nanayakkara at a round table discussion with its members this morning to discuss the concerns and proposed reforms to the labour law.

The members, representing diverse industries were able to make representation to and discuss with the Hon. Minister and representatives of the Ministry regarding the key challenges, and barriers to trade and investment faced by them in relation to the prevaling labour laws and clouding matters such as fair wages, termination of employment, flexibility & mobility, diversity & inclusion, attrition etc.

The Honourable Minister,  at this meeting shared with the representatives of the private sector significant developments and progress in relation to an ambitious and progressive reforms process that is much awaited and would be catalytic on the improvement of Sri Lanka’s business and investment environment through implementation in the very near future.
