The US Embassy in Sri Lanka in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce(AmCham) Sri Lanka hosted the US Trade Show 2015 which was declared open by US Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives his excellency Atul Keshap was held at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo on the 17th and 18th November 2015.
This year the event attracted over 30 US affiliated companies from various fields and recoded a monumental attendance of over 700 attendees, in the span of two days. Some of the popular stalls were Subway, Revlon, InfoTechs, KFC, Ford and Harley Davidson.
Speaking at the event Deputy Foreign Minister Hon. Harsha De Silva stated that the country’s trade and foreign policy will be hugely pro-western in the near future. He also mentioned that there have been significant improvements in bilateral relations between the two countries.
The chief guest for the event his Excellency Ambassador Atul Keshap congratulated the success of the Trade Show saying “The people of Sri Lanka have made clear their intent to leave aside the politics of the past in order to build a promising and unified future, and the government of Sri Lanka has brought in policies to make it easier to do business, operate here, and trade with Sri Lanka, not just for the US but with the rest of the world”.
