The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Sri Lanka proudly hosted the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) Executive Directors’ Retreat 2015 from the 7th to the 10th of October 2015.
American chambers throughout Asia Pacific meet twice yearly at APCAC meetings to share information and work on common issues. One of these meetings gets the Executive Directors to focus on chamber operations and programs. The second meeting includes a policy issue session for the Executive Directors and a larger get-together of APCAC members.
The APCAC mission is to improve the competitiveness of U.S. business in the Asia-Pacific region. The 27 American Chambers active in APCAC represent the interests of over 10,000 business entities and 50,000 business executives.
The Executive Directors arrived on the evening of the 7th and the conference began on the 8th of October 2015. The Executive Directors had their idea sharing/brain storming sessions till the 9th of October 2015, after which we tied up the session with lunch, where the delegates had an opportunity to meet H.E. Ambassador Atul Keshap who addressed the gathering with his keynote speech.
The delegates were taken on an excursion to Pinnawale on the 10th, the final day, to showcase the natural wonders Sri Lanka has to offer.
