The U.S. Commercial Service in Chennai in collaboration with AmCham Sri Lanka and the U.S. Embassy in Colombo hosted a business delegation comprising of US companies based in India.
A Business Forum for the delegates and AmCham members was held on 25, June 2015 at the Galle Face Hotel.
Mr. Andrew Mann - Chargés D’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy welcomed the visiting delegates providing them with an overview of the opportunities available in Sri Lanka. The Charge further added that the time to enter the Sri Lankan market was right given the stable economic and political climate.
Mr. Asanka Ratnayake – President, AmCham also addressed the delegation welcoming the increased presence of US businesses in Sri Lanka.
Mr. Felicio Ferraz - Vice President, AmCham and CEO of Ceylon Tobacco Company, Mr. Hariharan Padmanaban – Director, SLASSCOM and Ms. Renuka Weerakone, Executive Director, Board of Investment provided the delegates with valuable insight on “Doing Business in Sri Lanka” as well as industry specific information.
An introduction to the delegates was made by Mr. John Fleming - Principal Commercial Officer of The U.S. Commercial Service in Chennai.
